The Assistant Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for inspection work related to the provision of code enforcement and inspection services in the town.
This includes building, zoning, electrical and plumbing codes as well as the enforcement and interpretation of the local zoning bylaw, and other applicable regulations.
The employee is required to perform all similar or related duties.
The successful candidate must have the ability get along with others in a professional manner; considerable knowledge of the materials and approved methods/techniques of building construction, plumbing and electrical repair and installation, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
The candidate must possess a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years prior work experience, preferably in the construction trades, valid Class C license and the ability to become a State Certified Code Enforcement Officer within 1 year of appointment.
